Fourth Ordnance Company Basketball Team
Photo and caption provided by Gordon Mills

A picture of the WSPG basketball team of 1954/55. It was composed of the 4th Ordnance Company team, because we had won the post championship, and three members of other teams. For some reason I can't remember, those guys are not in the picture. The WSPG team played at Beaumont, Biggs, Holloman and one game as preliminary at the college in Las Cruces. Unfortunately we got our clocks pretty well cleaned by those guys! We were used to playing in a Quonset hut and when we hit the full sized gyms-we were bedazzled! Here are the names of the guys in the picture:

Top row: Bill Bauer, Roald Quam, Tom Lighthiser, Don Wendling

Middle row: Bob Williams, Bob Arthur, Howie Shevrin, Bill Hamilton

Bottom row: Ray Novak, Ray Smith, Gordy Mills, Whitey Hendrickson
