V-2 Repair Facility at

These two photos are of the V-2 repair
facility at Kleinbodungen, Germany, which was cleared on April
10, 1945, by tanks and infantry of the US 83rd Armored Reconnaissance
Battalion, after overrunning the German rear guard elements and fighting with
occasional Panther tanks. This is where the V-2 Rocket on display at the
White Sands Missile Range Museum came under control of the US forces and
eventually made its way to White Sands Proving Ground, New Mexico. |
