Nike Apache Research Rocket

     This two stage solid fuel research rocket (sounding rocket) launched from LC-36 by the Navy at WSMR consists of a Nike booster and an Apache second stage rocket motor with a scientific payload. This photo was of a NASA Nike Apache 14.422 horizontal check being performed on 11 Aug 69 in preparation for launch.
