Nike Zeus

     This was the original missile designed as a defense against intercontinental ballistic missile attack. To accelerate the missile to supersonic speeds quickly, the booster generated more than 450,000 pounds of thrust. Never fielded although some elements were integrated into the Spartan. U.S. Army
