Terrier Black Brant Research Rocket

     This is a Black Brant V (BBV) second stage rocket boosted by a Terrier booster motor launched from LC-36. As with the Nike Black Brant, this is another example of the scientific community using excess military assets that have either become obsolete or have exceeded proscribed shelf life such as Navy Terrier missile or Army Nike missile boosters that are no longer acceptable for weapon use.
